What Books Bitcoiners should read during Coronavirus Quarantine? Books recommended by Binance CEO CZ

1.”Blitzscaling” by Reid Hoffman

“In addition to discussing scaling and growing in great detail, this book goes into detail on how organizations of different sizes work, as well as some of the implications when teams grow to different sizes. This has been very helpful to Binance as we chart our growth as an organization. It’s a fairly up-to-date book, which even talks about recent topics like cryptocurrencies.”

This book was also recommended by Bill Gates (Founder of Microsoft), Brian Chesky (Co-Founder & CEO of Air Bnb), Sheryl Sandber (COO of Facebook) and  Eric Schmidt (Former CEO of Google)

As Eric Schmidt described this book as “The secret of Silicon Valley is that it keeps updating the playbook. Each new success – from Google to Facebook to Airbnb and Uber – develops new techniques for world-transforming products. Blitzscaling paints the picture, with key case studies, of what it really takes to build a market-leading company.”

2.”Crossing the Chasm” by Geoffrey Moore

“In the context of Binance and many other blockchain or high-tech companies, there’s an ongoing challenge to market our products and services in a way that the general public will care about it. This book has helped me hone my message with regard to talking about Binance to the world.”

Amazon description calls is “The bible for bringing cutting-edge products to larger markets”

3.”Team Topologies” by Matthew Skelton and Manuel Pais.

CZ thinks this is must read book for team players, team leaders and aspiring leaders. “This book, which provides tips on “organizing business and technology for fast flow,” can help you understand what you need to do to progress your career and company.”

Team Topologies ranks #3 on “Best new management books to read in 2020” by Book Authority.

4.”The Advantage” by Patrick Lencioni.CZ: “The book’s subtitle (and focus) is ‘why organizational health trumps everything else in business.’ I agree with the book’s assertion that the competitive advantage of successful companies lies more on how healthy and well a company’s organization behaves and operates.”

Holger Seim, the CEO of Blinkist, said that this book helped him to shift his focus from individual performance to team performance. “It helped me to realize and take seriously the fact that great team performance doesn’t happen magically but needs conscious effort.”

5.”The Culture Code: The Secrets of Highly Successful Groups” by Daniel Coyle.

“At Binance, we constantly strive to build a great culture, so that we are more motivated to deliver better services to everyone. There are lessons that we constantly draw from this book’s case studies of admirable organizations.” tells CZ Binance.

Bryan Callen, the Co-Host of the popular youtube channel “The Fighter and the Kid” names this book in the top 3 “Must Read Books”

6. Work Rules! by Laszlo Bock.

“This book talks about work-related insights derived from the author’s time at Google. No matter what your opinion is about Google, there are lessons in this book that are good to know, especially at Binance as we also release product after product at a fast pace.”

CZ Binance also mentioned three of the following books in his Twitter, referencing his recent podcast with Pomp.

7. Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari. “While I read a lot of work-related books, I also draw inspiration from books like this, which gives me a greater perspective about how humans emerged and why we behave the way we do.”

8. The Law by Frédéric Bastiat. “This short (only 60+ pages) but timeless book by French essayist Bastiat is pretty advanced for its time, and it aligns with a lot of my personal philosophy.”

9. Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlitt. “More than 60 years have passed since this book was first published, but there are few books that better encapsulate the inner workings of economics than this one. If you want to account for more modern economic trends, you can opt for the anniversary editions that add some new material.”

10. Fallen Dragon by Peter Hamilton. “Every once in a while, I enjoy science fiction novels like this one.  Fallen Dragon is about someone who sought out a treasure and ended up finding something more significant, as well as a variety of characters with compelling quests as well. I wouldn’t divulge too much, as I want you to enjoy the journey yourself.”
